Our Story Makes Us Different
Blue Bee Collective isn’t just another PT practice. Our mission is deeply rooted in the lessons learned from a little boy named Dominic.
In 2011, my husband and I were blessed with our fourth child, a son named Dominic, who was born with an extremely rare genetic condition that would prove to be life altering. He was extremely medically complex and fragile, required around the clock care, and spent countless months admitted to the hospital during his life.
Through witnessing Dominic’s sufferings, joys, and example of perseverance, my heart was transformed. For the first time, rather than being on the provider side of healthcare, I was on the receiving end. I learned what worked and what didn’t, what I liked and what needed to change, and what could be improved in the modern healthcare system. Mostly, I learned what parents and caregivers need from their child’s team.
In 2020, Dominic passed away, leaving us, his family, wondering how to move on after 8 years of such an extraordinary life. And slowly, my calling came:
Be the person in other’s lives that I wanted in my own.
And so, Blue Bee Collective took shape. With a heart for other mothers, and the mind of an experienced therapist, I allow my son to live on through the dedication and passion I pour into each of my clients.
I recognize the profound dignity each child holds from the simple fact that they exist. And I treat each of my clients as I would treat my own son.
And, in case you’re wondering, the name Blue Bee is an ode to my son, Dominic. “Blue” for his favorite color, “Bee” for his favorite movie, “The Bee Movie,” and “Collective” for the belief that to achieve success, we must work together as a team.
This is my passion project.
